Dr. Linger grew up in Northwest Indiana where he graduated as salutatorian from Highland High School. He then graduated with highest distinction from Purdue University with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in 2008. During his time at Purdue, he realized his true calling was in medicine to allow his fascination of anatomy and physiology to guide his future career decisions. He then graduated with highest honors at Indiana University School of Medicine in 2012. His orthopedic surgery residency was also completed in Indianapolis through Indiana University School of Medicine. Combining his love for minimally invasive and arthroscopic surgery, he pursued a sports medicine and shoulder fellowship at TRIA Orthopedics and University of Minnesota to receive specialized training for sports specific and advanced arthroscopic techniques. He then began his private practice in Bloomington, IN and has enjoyed the challenge to provide cutting edge and evidence based care to his patients.
Dr. Linger and his family have loved raising their two children in the Bloomington community. His wife is an occupational therapist and certified functional nutritionist. They are active members of Sherwood Oaks Christian Church and enjoy time serving and helping at the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington. Their growing children are active in music and sports, and they read more books than can be kept on the bookshelf. As a family they enjoy time hiking, exploring new cuisines, laughing, and always being ready for something new. If there is any free time for Dr. Linger, you might find him on the golf course, at the YMCA, playing tennis or pickleball, or enjoying a coffee at a local cafe.
